These astrophotos were taken in this last year, with my Canon Rebel XT camera attached to an 8" Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope.   It's interesting to see what you can accomplish in astrophotography using only a non-specialized camera.  These are relatively technically challenging shots to take, as such long exposures require good accuracy of sky tracking, and therefore, a fairly decent polar alignment.  On the other hand, the results can feel satisfying.
